Kalliopi Katsiris
Flute
Kalliopi Katsiris is a second year master's student at the University of Michigan majoring in Flute Performance and Chamber Music, where she studies with Professor Amy Porter. In the first year of her master's at the University of Michigan, Kalliopi won Second Prize in the Darlene Dugan Great Lakes Young Artist Competition. During her undergraduate degree, Kalliopi toured Europe, playing concerts in London, Paris, and Amsterdam. She was a featured soloist in the Iowa State Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Iowa State Symphony Orchestra. In addition to performing and studying at U of M, Kalliopi enjoys teaching as the flute instructor at Dexter's Musician’s Edge. -
Mattie Levy
Oboe, Composition
Described as multi-faceted, relevant, and fun, Mattie Levy is a composer, writer, and performer. She holds master’s degrees in composition and oboe performance from the University of Michigan. Her recent projects include Floating on the Wings of Our Planet, an immersive media piece about climate change, and her Presser Award–winning musical Concert Black, which tells the stories of three Black classical musicians. Her essay on imposter syndrome appeared in Currents in Music Research, and her opera Constance: a confession premieres at HERE Arts Center in 2026. She is also the community engagement coordinator for Prison Creative Arts Project, working to provide arts opportunities for people impacted by the justice system. -
Thomas Welnick
Oboe
Thomas Welnick is an oboist currently based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He currently attends the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, and Dance and will graduate with a Master’s Degree in Oboe Performance in the Spring of 2026. Thomas has experience playing in large ensembles, chamber ensembles, new music ensembles, theatrical pit ensembles, and as a soloist. He has performed at Festival Napa Valley, National Music Festival, and the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival. Thomas earned a Bachelor’s of Music Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. His primary teachers are Dr. Nancy Ambrose King and Celeste Johnson. -
Mara Mayer
Clarinets
Mara Mayer is a freelance clarinetist in NYC. She specializes in contemporary chamber music, improvised music, and the bass clarinet. Frequent collaborators include the Nouveau Classical Project, Curiosity Cabinet, Banda de los Muertos, and GABI. Mara graduated from the Eastman School of Music and also holds a degree in Brain & Cognitive Science. -
Noah Stoker
Saxophones
Noah Stoker is an Ann Arbor-based saxophonist who uses music as a vehicle for building meaningful relationships and storytelling. He has commissioned and premiered over 40 new works for saxophone, bringing new music to stages across the country and championing works by up-and-coming composers. In addition to his performance career, he is a passionate educator. During the summer of 2025, he served as the teaching fellow at the historic Interlochen Arts Camp. He currently maintains an active private studio in Southeast Michigan. Noah holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory and the University of Michigan. -
Nicole Knorr
Keyboards, Vocals, Composition
Nicole Knorr is a musician of liminalities, investigating the in-betweens, transformations, and fragments. Nicole's work resides at the crossroads of sound, visual art, and language. As a composer and improviser, they are tending a body of work engaged with sound as atmosphere, modular fiction, music-as-game—art as communion—ultimately, restructuring music as a medium where agency is embraced as intimacy. Collaborations of the upcoming season include performances with the Atlanta Philharmonic, the New Jersey Symphony through the Edward T. Cone Institute, performers of the Albany Symphony, a residency with NeuroArts Productions to create a concert-length staged music theater work, and the creation of a new chamber opera with Marinette Gomez (Lyric Opera of Chicago) and the University of North Florida. -
Kirsten Lee
Violin
Kirsten Lee is a violinist and music educator based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She maintains a vibrant performing and teaching career, regularly appearing with the Ann Arbor, Adrian, and Jackson Symphony Orchestras, in addition to freelancing throughout the Chicago and Detroit areas. A dedicated educator, Kirsten teaches general music and orchestra at Bach Elementary School in Ann Arbor, and serves as a violin and viola instructor at both the Ann Arbor Music Academy and Musician’s Edge. Kirsten holds dual Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Violin Performance from Northwestern University. -
Casey Boyer
Viola, Co-Artistic Director
A native of Central Texas, Casey Boyer is a violist pursuing graduate degrees in viola and chamber music performance at the University of Michigan. She has a passion for working with composers, recording artists, and performers within genres ranging from experimental contemporary music to roots improvisation. She is currently a member of the University of Michigan Contemporary Directions Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, and is an active and founding member of the Ann Arbor-based jazz/folk ensemble My Teeth. Her recent contemporary music performances have included collaborations with Clarice Assad, Graham Reynolds, Ania Vu, and Marcos Balter. -
Max Winningham
Double Bass
Max Winningham is a performer, composer, and improviser from Houston, Texas. He began his studies at Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts with Deborah Dunham, and later earned a BMA in Double Bass Performance from Northwestern University under the mentorship of Andrew Raciti. Though classically trained, his work spans a wide range of genres, including electronic music, bluegrass, and jazz. He has performed and studied internationally across the United States, France, Canada, and Switzerland, and participated in masterclasses and workshops with François Rabbath, Paul Ellison, and John Clayton.An active chamber musician, Max is one half of the Terracotta Duo with percussionist Paige Madden. Collaboration and community are at the core of Max’s artistry: he views music as a vehicle for storytelling, a means of building empathy, and a way of creating connections across boundaries of genre, culture, and lived experience.
